There was no shortage of unique and unusual new snacks at the Sweets & Snacks Expo in Chicago, which was held May 23-25. For those convenience-store retailers on the hunt for weird, wild and wacky new products to lure those customers looking for a surprise, this show didn't disappoint. Mushroom chips? Check. Dill pickle pork rinds? Check.
Click through to see some of the most unique new snacking products spotted on the show floor, including this one from Athena Brands Inc. Mustache Munchies are organic baked crackers made with chickpea flour, kale and chia. The vegan and gluten-free snacks come in fun mustache shapes in three flavors: Spicyish, Cheddarish and Parmesan Rosemary. They are available in 1-ounce and 4-ounce resealable stand-up pouches.
